RecordsAI
A free pet health records app for every pet you love
PetGrid's pet health records app is a free place to keep each pet's vaccines, medicines, allergies, weight, symptom notes and vet papers, whatever vet you use.
Everything you add is marked as added by you, so a sitter, a kennel or a new vet knows where it came from. When your clinic is on PetGrid, its records can arrive too.
How it works
How it works, step by step
Add your pet
Sign up free and add your pet: a name and species are all it takes, and a photo if you like.
Add what you know
Type in vaccines, medicines, allergies and weight, or upload a vet paper and let the AI suggest them for you to confirm.
Keep it up to date
Vaccines with a next due date make a reminder on their own, and the symptom diary keeps notes for your next visit.
Use it when it matters
Download the vaccine card, make a share link for a sitter, or send your records to your PetGrid clinic.
What you can do
What you can do with it
Add each pet with a name and species and, if you like, a breed, birth date, sex, microchip number and photo.
Keep vaccines with the date given and the next due date, and a reminder is made for you.
Keep a list of medicines with the dose, how often and when you started, and mark one as stopped.
Note allergies, track weight over time and keep a symptom diary to show your vet.
Upload vet papers and photos (PDF, JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC), private to you.
Send your records to your clinic when it is on PetGrid; the clinic team checks them and keeps its own copy.
The AI in it
How the AI helps, and who decides
AI can read a vet paper you upload and suggest records; you confirm each one before it is saved.
What the AI does
- Reads a vet paper or a photo of one you uploaded and suggests the vaccines, medicines and allergies it finds.
- Marks every record it helped with "Added by you, read from your document", so you always know where it came from.
What you decide
You confirm or skip each thing the AI finds. Nothing is added to your pet's record until you say yes, and anything that reads like a condition is shown with "Ask your vet" and never saved.
How to switch it off
The AI only reads a document when you tap "Read it with AI". To keep a pet away from AI altogether, turn on "No AI" on that pet's page.
Good to know
What it does not do (yet)
- Records you add are your own notes: they are not checked by a clinic, and they do not replace your vet's medical record.
- You can add past visits to your pets. On a pet at a PetGrid clinic they are marked "Added by you" and only you see them; the clinic does not. PetGrid never diagnoses.
- An allergy can be added but not removed, so a sitter never misses one by mistake.
- People who live in Quebec cannot sign up for now.
Questions people ask
Can I keep my pet's health records in an app for free?
Yes. The PetGrid app is free for pet owners and works with any vet, or none at all: you add the records yourself, and each one is marked "Added by you".
Who can see the documents I upload?
Your uploaded papers and photos are private: only you can open them, signed in. You choose what to share and with whom; see sharing.
How many pets and documents can I add?
Up to 20 pets per person, and up to 40 papers and photos per pet, each up to 15 MB.
Does the app keep visit notes or diagnoses?
The free app keeps vaccines, medicines, allergies, weight, a symptom diary, reminders, past visits you add and your uploaded papers. On a pet at a PetGrid clinic, visits you add are marked "Added by you" and only you see them; the clinic does not. PetGrid never diagnoses: keep your vet's visit papers as documents, and ask your vet about anything medical.
How do I get my vet's records into the app?
The clinic keeps your pet's medical record, and you can ask for a copy. Read who owns your pet's medical records and how to get your pet's vet records.
