AI record reading: your vet papers, into your pet's records
AI record reading in PetGrid turns a vet paper you upload into your pet's records: it suggests the vaccines, medicines and allergies it finds, and you confirm each one.
It saves you typing, and it never saves anything you have not checked.
How it works
How it works, step by step
Upload a vet paper
Add your vet's paper or a photo of it to your pet's papers and photos.
Ask the AI to read it
Tap "Read it with AI". The file goes to the AI model, nothing else.
Check each suggestion
Go through the vaccines, medicines and allergies it found, and confirm or skip each one.
It is added for you
What you confirmed is added, marked as read from your document, and due vaccines get a reminder.
What you can do
What you can do with it
Upload a vet paper or a photo of one and tap "Read it with AI".
See the vaccines, medicines and allergies it found, one by one.
Confirm or skip each suggestion before anything is saved.
Get a reminder for each confirmed vaccine with a due date.
See which records came from a document: they are marked "Added by you, read from your document".
The AI in it
How the AI helps, and who decides
AI reads a vet paper you upload and suggests vaccines, medicines and allergies; you confirm each one.
What the AI does
- Reads a vet paper you uploaded, a PDF or a photo, and suggests the vaccines (name, date given, due date, lot), medicines (drug, dose, how often, date) and allergies it finds.
- Sends only the file to the AI model, nothing else about you.
- Makes a reminder when you confirm a vaccine with a due date.
What you decide
You confirm or skip each suggestion. Nothing is saved until you say yes, and conditions are only shown, with "Ask your vet", never saved.
How to switch it off
It only runs when you tap "Read it with AI". Turn on "No AI" on a pet's page and nothing about that pet is sent to AI.
Good to know
What it does not do (yet)
- Ten readings per person each month, and a failed reading counts.
- PDF or photo only, up to 15 MB and 20 PDF pages.
- Conditions are shown with "Ask your vet" and never saved; the reading is not a vet's opinion.
- It is refused for a pet with "No AI" turned on.
Questions people ask
Can an app read my pet's vet records for me?
Yes. Upload your vet's paper or a photo of it in the free PetGrid app and tap "Read it with AI": it suggests the vaccines, medicines and allergies it finds, and you confirm each one.
Does the AI save things on its own?
No. Nothing is added until you confirm it, and anything that reads like a condition is shown with "Ask your vet" and never saved.
How many documents can I have read?
Ten readings per person each calendar month, a failed reading included. Each file can be a PDF of up to 20 pages or a photo, up to 15 MB.
What is sent to the AI?
Only the file you chose goes to PetGrid's AI provider for the reading. Turn on "No AI" on a pet's page and nothing about that pet is sent. Read more in the privacy questions.
