One clinic, one vet. Opening a clinic on your own? As the owner and its only vet, you pay the practice price alone, $259 CAD a month: your own seat is not charged, and you are the admin and the vet in one account. A second vet is $90 CAD a month. Front desk, vet techs and pet owners are always free.

What you are actually charged
A practice fee, plus a seat per vet
$259 CAD a month for the practice, then $90 CAD a month for each veterinarian. Add a vet and the bill follows; nobody has to renegotiate a contract.
14 days free
Every practice starts with 14 days free, with no card required. Subscribe any time before its last two days and you keep the days that are left. The first charge is when the trial ends.
Only veterinarians count as seats
Vet techs, nurses, front desk and practice admins use the console at no charge, and every pet owner on the client app is free. You are billed for veterinarians and nothing else.
Canadian dollars, converted in the US
Prices are set in Canadian dollars. A visitor in the United States sees each price in US dollars, converted from the Canadian price at the Bank of Canada's rate for the day.
Your client billing stays yours
Invoices your practice raises to its own clients are yours. If you take cards, they go through your practice's own Stripe account, with your practice as the merchant, and PetGrid takes no cut unless you agree on a fee in writing.
No surprise charges
No setup fee, no onboarding fee, no per-message charge, and nothing billed by patients, clients or data. The one charge by use is extra AI Front Desk minutes, at $0.35 CAD a minute, and only if an admin switches them on.
Founding clinic price
Sign up with the code FOUNDING30 and pay 30% less on the practice fee and the vet seats for your first 12 months, while your area still has a founding spot. It does not apply to AI Front Desk, top-ups or extra minutes.

AI Assist, included
Draft SOAP notes from shorthand or dictation, summarise a patient's history, and suggest replies to client messages. A person approves everything before it is saved or sent.
Includes 3 million AI tokens per vet a month, shared across the clinic. Admins get a warning at 80% of it.
When the allowance runs out, drafting stops until next month or a top-up. Writing notes yourself is never affected.

AI Front Desk is the only paid AI add-on, switched on for the whole practice, in two sizes. An owner can opt a pet out of the AI features that read its record.
AI Front Desk
A receptionist that answers the clinic's phone from what the clinic has taught it: hours, services, policies. Includes the clinic's phone number. Two-way texting and text reminders go through that number.

Includes 500 phone minutes and 12 million AI tokens a month, whichever runs out first. Receptionist calls and confirmation calls share the minutes, each call rounded up to the minute.

AI Front Desk Plus
AI Front Desk with a bigger monthly allowance, for a busy phone. Includes the clinic's phone number.
$499 CAD a month for the clinic
Includes 1,200 phone minutes and 28 million AI tokens a month, whichever runs out first. Receptionist calls and confirmation calls share the minutes, each call rounded up to the minute.
When the allowance runs out, the AI stops answering and calls ring through to the clinic, unless extra minutes are switched on.
A clinic has AI Front Desk or AI Front Desk Plus, not both.
AI Assist top-up
Adds 1 million AI Assist tokens for $12 CAD, for any clinic: bought once by an admin and valid for the rest of the current month.
Extra Front Desk minutes
Optional. If the clinic switches them on, each AI Front Desk minute past the allowance is $0.35 CAD. If not, the AI stops answering at the limit and calls ring through to the clinic.
A warning before the limit
Admins get a warning when the clinic has used 80% of an allowance, so the limit is never a surprise.
Early clinic offer
The first 10 clinics to subscribe to AI Front Desk or AI Front Desk Plus pay 50% less for it for 6 months. The allowances are the same; top-ups and extra minutes are full price.

How much does PetGrid cost?
$259 CAD a month for the practice plus $90 CAD a month for each veterinarian. There is no setup fee, no onboarding fee and no data conversion fee.
Which currency will I be billed in?
In Canadian dollars, unless your clinic is in the United States, in which case it is billed in US dollars. Every price on this site says which currency it is in; a visitor in the United States sees US dollars, converted from the Canadian price at the Bank of Canada's rate for the day.

Can I import from the system I use now?
Yes, if it can export a CSV or Excel file, which practice systems generally can. Clients and pets first, then your visit history. The importer shows you exactly what it found before anything is saved, and running the same file twice adds nothing twice.
What does 'built to the CVO record standard' mean?
The College of Veterinarians of Ontario's medical records standard: every entry attributed and dated, corrections as addenda that keep the original, drugs billed separately from advice and services, and the complete record released in one click. Compliance is the facility's responsibility, but the software should not be the reason a record falls short.
Does PetGrid use AI, and what does it cost?
AI notes, history summaries and reply drafts are included for every vet: AI Assist comes with every subscription, with 3 million AI tokens per vet a month, shared across the clinic, and a top-up of 1 million is $12 CAD. Owner visit summaries are included too: AI drafts a plain-language summary of a visit and a veterinarian approves it before the owner sees it. The one paid AI add-on is AI Front Desk (a phone receptionist that also rings clients to confirm their appointments), at $249 CAD a month with 500 phone minutes, or $499 CAD for AI Front Desk Plus with 1,200. AI Front Desk is free during the trial. Note drafting uses only the vet's own notes and basic pet details. The other AI features are on for every pet unless its owner opts out.
