PetGrid's veterinary reminder software sends appointment, vaccine and recall reminders on its own: email the day before a visit and vaccine reminders worked out from each pet's record. Texts, when the owner agreed, come with the AI Front Desk add-on, which is rolling out.

Work as usual
Book the visit or record the vaccine as usual; the reminder is worked out from the schedule and the pet's record.
The day before, a reminder
The day before a visit, the owner gets an email (and a text if they agreed, with the AI Front Desk add-on) with links to confirm or change it.
When a vaccine is due
Vaccine reminders can be emailed on the due date, or 7 or 14 days before.
Recalls, if you want them
Switch on the recalls you want; they go out to owners with marketing consent.

How the AI helps, and who decides
Reminder emails and texts use no AI; with the AI Front Desk add-on, an AI also calls the day before to confirm each visit.
What the AI does
- With the AI Front Desk add-on, calls owners the day before a visit to confirm it, saying first that it is an AI.
- Takes the answer: press 1 to confirm, 2 to cancel, say "reschedule" for a new time, or press 9 to stop the calls.
- Calls only within Canadian calling hours, at most twice per visit.
What you decide
Your team decides whether to add the AI Front Desk at all, and which visits it may call about. An owner who presses 9 is never called again, and a request for a new time goes to your team's Chat rather than being booked by the AI on its own.
How to switch it off
The reminder emails and texts use no AI. The confirmation calls belong to the paid AI Front Desk add-on: pause it or release the line in Settings and the emails and texts carry on as before.

Questions people ask
How does PetGrid send appointment reminders?
PetGrid sends appointment reminders by email the day before the visit, and by text when your clinic sends texts and the owner said yes. With the AI Front Desk add-on, it can also call to confirm.
Are vaccine reminders automatic?
Vaccine reminders can be emailed on the due date, or 7 or 14 days before. Owners get one email per pet and see the reminder in the app too. Reminders are based on each pet's latest shot of each vaccine; reminders more than 30 days overdue are not emailed, but remain visible in the app.
Do recall emails respect consent?
Yes. Recalls for overdue dental care, senior bloodwork and lapsed clients go only to owners who gave marketing consent, which keeps them within Canada's anti-spam law, and never to an owner who recently lost a pet.
Will an owner get a reminder for a pet that has died?
No. Reminders are never sent for a pet marked deceased or inactive, and recalls skip owners who lost a pet recently.
Can reminders go by text message?
Yes, when texting is on for your clinic and the owner agreed. Texts are held during quiet hours and sent the next morning.
