How it works

How it works, step by step

  1. Open your account

    Open Privacy and account in the app.

  2. Download a copy

    Tap "Download all my data" for a ZIP of your records, papers and photos.

  3. Choose what is shared

    Turn off share links and codes, or turn AI off for a pet, at any time.

  4. Delete it all if you want

    Type DELETE to remove every pet, record, share and file at once.

What it does not do (yet)

  • Deleting your records cannot be undone; download a copy first.
  • A clinic keeps whatever was sent to it and its own medical record, invoices and proof of consent.
  • With a PetGrid clinic, the download is prepared and works for a limited time, and closing your account is confirmed by the clinic.

Questions people ask

How do I download my pet data from PetGrid?

Go to Privacy and account in the free PetGrid app and tap "Download all my data": you get a ZIP with your records and every paper and photo you uploaded. Share links are never included.

Can I delete my account and my pet's records?

Yes. Type DELETE to confirm and every pet, record, share and file goes at once. With no clinic, your login closes too.

What happens to records my clinic holds?

Your clinic keeps your pet's medical record, invoices and proof of consent, as it must. You can ask to close your account; the clinic confirms it. Read who owns your pet's medical records.

How do I keep my pet's data away from AI?

Turn on "No AI" on that pet's page in the free app, or under Account, Privacy with a PetGrid clinic. Nothing about that pet is then sent to AI. More on privacy for pet owners.
